"There's no such thing as the wrong weather. Just the wrong clothes"
As a child, I am sure most parents remember climbing trees, splashing in puddles or building dens and shelters, At Mucky pups we help create these ever lasting memories for your children every day. Mucky Pups is fortunate enough to have a fantastic outdoor space where all children have constant access to learning outdoors.
As our name " Mucky Pups" suggests learning outside is something we are very passionate about.
ALL our children spend as much time as possible outdoors in the natural environment.
Outside our children get to be;
excited, energetic, adventurous, noisy, messy; talk, listen, interact, make friends; imagine, dream, invent, fantasise; create, invent, construct, deconstruct; investigate, explore, discover, experiment with their own ideas and theories; make sounds and music, express ideas and feelings; find patterns, make marks, explore different media and materials; investigate concepts and ideas; be active, run, climb, pedal, jump, throw; dig, grow, nurture, cultivate; hide, relax, find calm, reflect; have responsibility, be independent, collaborate with others.
Now who wouldn't want that?

Why Outdoors?
Outdoor learning has equal importance to indoor learning. It has a positive impact on children (and adults) well being and development. It supports a healthy lifestyle and gives children opportunities for physical development and freedom that the indoors environment can never provide. Playing outside provides opportunities for developing harmonious relationships with others, through negotiation, taking turns and cooperation.
Children who learn best through activity and movement have the opportunity to experience new challenges, take risks and develop the skills to manage difficult situations. They can develop their creativity and problem-solving skills too.
The natural world outside provides rich opportunities for imagination, inventiveness and resourcefulness and offers them unique experiences, such as direct contact with the weather and seasons and creatures.
Our outdoor environment has unique characteristics and features such as a hard core surface for bikes and scooter, an artificial grass area for role play and our little ones to crawl on safely and a woodland area where nature is abundant.
We have a den, growing beds for fruit, vegetables and herbs, water play, a mud kitchen and shelters.
We also have access to local parks, walks and the local city centre. As things open up after COVID we hoping to expand our horizons even more and visit the beach and local theatres too.
