Early Years Pupil Premium.
The Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP) provides an extra 53p per hour for children who claim the 3 and 4 year old funding. Only certain children are eligible for this funding including children whose parents income is under a certain threshold, are in receipt of certain benefits or for children who have been in local authority care. There are also lots of other reasons that a child may be eligible for the EYPP.
To check if a child is eligible for the EYPP all we do is to add your National Insurance number along with your name and address on to the form we already complete to claim the 3and 4 year old funding and the county council do the rest. There is no need to share any personal information with us. We like to check every child’s eligibility as there are so many ways that a child may be entitled.
How the Early Years Pupil Premium is used
We can use the additional funding in any way we choose to improve the quality of the early year’s education we provide for your child. This can include things like additional training for staff, purchasing of resources, additional staff, as well as many other opportunities that could become available to us due to this funding.
This could mean an extra £302 per child who is eligible for the EYPP and who take the full 570 hours per year with us. As you know we are a not for profit organisation which means every penny we earn goes back in to Mucky Pups. This extra money will give us lots of opportunities to further invest.
