Our curriculum...

The EYFS sets out seven areas of learning that support children’s development. These include the prime areas of Communication and Language, Physical Development, and Personal, Social and Emotional Development, alongside Literacy, Maths, Understanding the World, and Expressive Arts and Design.
Our curriculum is built around:
  • 🌿 Outdoor learning and free flow play all day
  • 🐾 Strong keyworker relationships
  • 🌍 Real-life experiences in our local community
  • ⭐ Magical Me focus weeks celebrating every child
  • 🤝 Genuine partnership with families
  • 🌈 A deep commitment to wellbeing and inclusion
We do not simply deliver the EYFS — we bring it to life through who we are and how we work.
We place a strong emphasis on early language, vocabulary development and communication across all areas of learning, helping children build confidence in expressing themselves and understanding others.

Our Intent
We want every Mucky Pup to:
  • Feel emotionally secure and valued
  • Develop independence and resilience
  • Build strong communication skills
  • Be curious about the world around them
  • Leave us confident and ready for their next stage of learning

Our passion for outdoor learning, community connections and positive relationships gives children the cultural capital and experiences they need to succeed — not just in school, but in life.

How We Implement Learning;

Children learn through a carefully planned environment that invites curiosity and exploration. Our practitioners observe, listen and respond thoughtfully, extending children’s interests and supporting their next steps.
You will see:
  • Invitations to play and provocations that spark thinking
  • Family group times that build belonging and bonds
  • Trips, visitors and real-life experiences
  • Daily phonics, maths and circle times delivered in engaging, age-appropriate ways
  • Opportunities for independence woven through every routine

Parents are active partners in this journey.
Through our online learning platform, focus meetings and daily conversations, we work together to support each child’s development.

The Impact
Mucky Pups are happy, engaged and confident learners. They communicate effectively, show curiosity and demonstrate growing independence. They are physically active, socially aware and emotionally secure.
Most importantly, they leave us ready — not just academically, but socially and emotionally — for the next stage of their journey.
