Nursery rhyme week
We have enjoyed exploring and experiencing the nursery rhymes this week. We all enjoyed making a real life bus outside using all different objects from our construction area. We even made some tickets and we took turn to drive the bus, discussing where we could go on our journey. Out on our field area we made a big scale clock using log stumps and broom handles, we wrote numbers 1-12 on the log stumps and enjoyed moving from each one. Inside nursery we set up a doctors surgery, with telephones, thermometers and bandages, we all had lots of fun trying to wrap each other up in the bandages and talking about how to use our digital thermometer. In the sensory tray we had our own farm, with lots of different textures in there to explore. Oh and of course we have enjoyed doing LOTS more singing of these nursery rhymes!
Another fabulous week at Mucky Pups.

Road Safety Week
What a fabulous week, we have been looking at how to be safe around roads and even had a visit from the lollipop lady Janet. Janet spoke about her role and how she keeps us safe when crossing the road, she showed us her uniform and told us to look out for a lollipop lady/man if we needed help crossing the road. We looked closely at traffic lights and what they mean when crossing the road and being safe. We enjoyed making traffic light biscuits too!

Bang, Crash, lights are in the sky, it's bonfire night!
This week we have been celebrating bonfire night and talking about all of the beautiful fireworks we saw at home, some of us even celebrated with some fireworks in our gardens. We have been building campfires, using different materials and talking about how to be safe around a fire.
We have made some fabulous bonfire pictures using various materials such as glitter, powder paint and chalk. At snack time, we made some chocolate sparklers, using breadsticks, chocolate and sprinkles. We enjoyed doing a firewrok dance, moving quickly, jumping and stomping.

Muddy Puddle Walk
Splash, Splosh!
This week we have all taken part in a Muddy Puddle walk for the charity Save The Children.
We all got our waterproofs, coats and wellies on ready to explore what was outdoors.
The Dalmatians did a scavenger hunt and found lots of autumnal objects, speaking about the similarities and differences between them and discussing Autumn in itself. The spaniels had a look for lots of leaves, when out on their walk to make a leaf crown with, they found lots of different shapes and colours of leaves. The sausage dogs looked and observed different signs of autumn too, they found big and small leaves, as well as seeing a squirrel whilst out on their walk. They also saw that the moon was still out and enjoyed looking at that and the clouds in the sky. We all found lots of MUDDY PUDDLES too which we all LOVE splashing in!
Save the children is a charity that provides medication and food for families, as well as trying to put an end to poverty.

Talk Like a Pirate Day
"Arghh me hearties!"
Today was National tlk like a pirate day so at Mucky pups today some of us, including the staff, decided to dress, talk and behave like pirates.
We made a pirate ship, sang pirate songs and had fun doing lots of pirate themed activiites.
We walked the plank, made a pirate ship, made maps and hunted for buried treasure.
Why not trying talking in apirate voice and singing our pirate counting song....
The day I went to sea
When I was 1 I ate a bun the day I went to sea.
I jumped aboard a pirateship and the captain saidto me…
We’re going forwards, backwards, portside, starboard over the deepblue sea.
Forwards,backwards, portside,starboard it’s a pirates lifefor me
When I was 2 I buckled my shoe …When I was 3 I washed me knee …
When I was 4 I locked the door …When I was 5 I jumped and jived …
When I was 6 I packed some sticks …When I was 7 I went toDevon …
When I was 8 I was so late ..When I was 9 I felt so fine …
When I was 10 I tookmy hen …
You could even have fun making up your own counting rhymes.
We finished the day with a gold or silver coin for treasure.

Graduation Photographs
Today we have had our Graduation photographs taken, it's been a very special day for us all, reflecting on everybody's time and journey at Mucky Pups and the next new exciting chapter still to come at school. Before we went out to have our photo taken, we decided we should practise our best smiles to show Leanne (The photographer) we all did an amazing job.
We had to put on a special cap and gown for our photo's which was very exciting and some of the girls said they looked like Queen Elsa.
We all supported each other, giving cuddles and being kind as a few of us did get a little anxious, which was lovely to see. Our graduation pictures will be with us at nursery next week and we can't wait to see how grown up everybody looks.
We are all very proud of our Mucky Pups children today, how they have flourished and grown whilst being with us.

Pyjamarama
At Mucky Pups we love to share a story and talk about what we think may happen next.
Pyjamarama is all about sharing stories with your children and encouraging that communication and learning, reading is also a great way to wind down before bedtime.
Last year, we brought in our favourite stories to share with our friends and even wore our favourite Pyjamas to nursery. This year has been a little different, BUT that didn't stop us sharing the stories we love with our very own Pyjama day at home.
All of our teachers got involved too at home and shared the stories that they had been reading at home. It was lovely to see so many of you all getting involved.
Stay and Play
We all had a lovely time at Stay and Play, showing our mums and dads what a fabulous time we have here at Mucky Pups.
Dalmatians made biscuits to decorate and made some heart pictures of people and things they love. Our value of the month is "Love" and we have been talking lots about things that are special to us. It was lovely to see so many parents come and join in the fun and see what we like to do and what we learn at nursery.
Chihuahua's had lots of fun too, we had a lovely story read to us by Joe, we all sat down to listen to it, even the parents. We enjoyed talking about nursery and drew a big collage picture of all the things we like to do. It was a fantastic picture.
Sausage dogs' enjoyed threading pasta onto pipe cleaners to practise those fine motor skills and turning them into necklaces and bracelets to take home. They also very much enjoyed sharing a cake and a biscuit with their mums and dads, some of the children enjoyed looking at our floor book which is a big scrapbook in which we put all of our leaning and interests into.
It was a fabulous day and we look forward to all of our parents coming into nursery again very soon.
