Here at Mucky Pups stories are very important in our day to day life. The staff LOVE telling stories!
We have an author and story of the month, a daily story time at the end of each session and books everywhere in nursery. We love to snuggle up and share stories inside and outside and the children love it to! There is so much learning that happens while you read together; Developing language, widening vocabulary,, hearing and predicting rhymes, seeing and hearing letter sounds and words, noticing punctuation, Who is the author and who illustrated the book and learning how to handle books and how to turn the page,. It also helps us learn and make sense of the world around us, different countries and cultures and how to deal with those big feelings both good and bad we all have especially at times like these.. A story read together is NEVER a waste of time! Sometimes it is difficult to always share a story together and during lock down there are some amazing stories being read on the internet by famous and not so famous people. Our very own Story Guru Joe who has been recording stories for you all to watch and listen to while you are at home.
